Friday, March 5, 2021 Quote of the week: " A strong woman stands up for herself. A stronger woman stands up for everybody else." --anonymous Dear Ocean Shore Families, Happy Women's History Month! As a woman currently living through a time of historical significance, I think I can say that living through history is definitely overrated. If I hear the word resilience once more, I'm going to bang my head against the wall. However, the truth is that we are all stronger than we think we are, and that especially goes for women. Women are still often portrayed in the media as weak, too emotional, unable to fend for themselves or to solve complicated problems. That's never been historically accurate, of course, and it's certainly not true in 2021. When I look at the women in education, I see ingenuity, creativity, loving kindness, and endurance. I look around me at the women and girls in this community and I see strength. We sometimes break down, but we get right back up and keep going. I am so proud of all of us. This past year has been a marathon, not a sprint, but we are in the homestretch. Take care, Jeanne Shout out of the week: Natalie Abinante and Meghann Elsbernd (Cabrillo teacher and LSEA president) are coordinating Patty Week which will be the week of 3/15/21.
